VLADDY'S BATTIES

"There's always next year"

Dane is a Leafs fan afterall

What happened? A team that featured Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Nolan Arenado, Joe Musgrove, Brandon Woodruff, Max Muncy, etc. finds themselves in dead last in the league (0-9 at the time of writing). Vladdy's Batties is still looking for their first win on the season. An inside source tells me Dane remains active, looking to improve his team for the future. Dane currently has the second most auction money going into 2024.

"How the mighty have fallen"

It'll be a long time before we see Shane Bieber hoisting any sort of trophy with Backdoor Sliders. At the time of writing, Backdoor Sliders currently holds the largest amount of auction money TEA has ever seen ($376 as of June 10th). It will be interesting to see if Brock can actually spend all this cash, considering he left $19 on the table during the 2023 auction (with only $253 cash before keepers).

DESIGNATED SHITTERS
Josh

"We have a trade to announce"

Designated Shitters remains in 10th in our rankings, despite spending $42 thus far ($218 remaining as of June 10th). Designated Shitters has elite batters, which should continue in the dog days of summer. However, can Designated Shitters pitch? Will Designated Shitters continue to spend cash to make the playoffs? Or will he peddle off injured players such as ERod, Dustin May, Edwin Diaz to get players to help right meow?

"TEA's sexiest manager"

Joe Ryan (season ranked #18 as of June 10) is almost as sexy as TEA's sexiest manager. As mentioned in the preseason rankings, Fishing For Taters has strong pitching. On June 10th, Fishing For Taters made a big splash acquiring SP Miles Mikolas and 3B Alex Bregman for $20. Will TEA's sexiest manager keep buying or will he reverse course and unload the strong pitching he has?

BUDS N BLUE JAYS

"Will lady luck finally be on his side?"

With the second most points against & the third most points for, Buds N Blue Jays are still fighting for a playoff spot, despite being 3-6. Up 4 spots from our preseason ranking, Buds N Blue Jays have seen positive contributions from waiver pickups such as SP Mitch Keller (picked up on March 23 for $0) and RP Yennier Cano (picked up on April 25 for $0). Will the Buds N Blue Jays host find himself back in the playoffs in 2023?

QUINN BASEBALL TEAM
Quinn

"Shall we stay or shall we go?"

- 4

Currently in the playoff spot (6th as of June 10), Quinn Baseball Team has the second least amount of points against. With arguably the best batters out of any team, will Quinn's pitching pick up the pace? Or will Quinn's luck change and find himself challenged as opponents potentially become tougher? Quinn currently sits with $258 as of June 10 for auction money in 2024 and could easily unload to join Ryan ($188) and Josh ($218) for the least amount of auction money entering 2024 to make a massive push for the 2023 playoffs.

ADAM'S TEAM

"Is it all a mirage?"

In Adam's preseason ranking, we said, "Keep your fingers & toes crossed for a healthy season!" as he acquired DeGrom, Scherzer, Cole, & Fried during the 2023 auction. You fine folks did not pray for Adam as the injury bug has bite Adam's team with DeGrom (Tommy John) and Fried (Forearm Strain). Despite having "strong" pitching, he has only 1 pitcher in the top 120 (Gerrit Cole - season ranked 20). Will Adam's Team still see success in the second half of the season or will we see the current 2nd place team slide down the standings?

WAMCO
Steven

"Can David continue to hang with the Goliaths?"

WAMCO finds himself still in 5th in our midseason ranking despite currently being in 7th in standings as of June 10. With still a strong pitching staff and a potential NL MVP candidate in Freddie Freeman, WAMCO continues to be competitive in TEA. Some notable waiver pickups during the first half include Gurriel Jr (season ranked 79 - $0 on May 9), Steer (season ranked 44 - $0 on April 1), Thomas (season ranked 88 - $0 on May 18).

"Gotta spend money to make money"

The biggest jump in our midseason rankings, GallensOfFun has landed at #4. GallensOfFun has sold the farm and re-mortgaged the house, Ryan currently has $188 of 2024 auction money as of June 10. There's lots to like on GallensOfFun with a potential NL MVP in Ronald Acuna Jr. (season ranked 2) and potential NL Cy Young in Zac Gallen (season ranked 5). Can Ryan possibly spend anymore money to make a deep run?

BUXTON A NUT

- 1

"When we have won the war, who will question our methods? - Hitler"

Down a spot from the preseason ranking, Buxton A Nut lands at #3 in the midseason ranking. Buxton A Nut has been very active in the trade market as he restructures his team on the fly while remaining competitive. With the surprise of Yandy Diaz (season rank #28 as of June 10), and 2 AL Cy Young canadiates in Kevin Gausman (season rank #3) and Shane McClanahan (season rank #32), will Buxton A Nut spend money to make a run? Or will his injured pitching staff be his trade deadline acquisitions (SP Brandon Woodruff, SP Drew Rasmussen, SP Justin Steele, SP Nestor Cortes & (NA) SP Grayson Rodriguez)?

2
GOATANI
Brandon
green arrow up.png

+2

"The future is now"

Contributing to GOATani early success is SP Marcus Stroman (season rank 7 as of June 10). Stro was traded to GOATani on April 11 from Buxton A Nut for SP Blake Snell, SS Willy Adames, $5. With the addition of Stroman, Rookie of the Year favourite Corbin Carroll has been outstanding (season rank 9). Despite struggles from star players such as Manny Machado and Alek Manoah, GOATani is still clearly a threat for the top spot in TEA.

CEASE AND DESIST
Tanner

"Dare we say Dynasty?"

Our defending champ. Cease and Desist still remains at #1 in our ranking. "Risky" cheap bets such as Cody Bellinger ($7) and JD Martinez ($5) during the 2023 auction have paid dividends. Also paying dividends is Tanner's early bet in Nate Eovaldi ($6 on March 23 - season ranked 4 as of June 10). Not to mention the cheap valuable core players Cease and Desist was able to keep. Cease And Desist continues to be the biggest threat in the greatest fantasy baseball league of all time.
